I wrote this tune for some workshop students, so I could include all the techniques I wanted to teach in one piece…mainly bow lifting, syncopated phrasing, using a lower string double stops. The style is Old-Time, inspired by the playing of Bruce Molsky in particular. This style is a little sparser and in some ways simpler sounding compared with Bluegrass or Texas Style, which tend to be a bit more note-heavy.
