Local bluegrass-inspired instrumentalists are converging for the release of the Orange Mighty Trio's debut EP. The trio features original material that "cobbles together jazz, classical, and Americana roots into a kind of maverick chamber music (City Pages)." The evening will include two local favorites-- the adventurous Mike Rossetto & Nick Lemme (of Spaghetti Western String Company) and the close-harmony-singing Get Up Johns.
The Orange Mighty Trio likes Frigg and likes playing "Jalla Jalla" with them at the Cedar Cultural Center. We think we will add it to our repertoire. Thanks to everyone who came out to see us.
St. Paddy's Day (Irish spelling) has passed and gone, with a flurry of Celtic shows. Read a little
tour report from the Piper's Crow Great Northern tour, featuring Duluth and Grand Marais.

A new project, The Orange Mighty Trio, is an original instrumental group with Mike Vasich on Piano and Nick Gaudette on upright Bass. I am happy to have these guys on board playing Fiddler's World and beyond. We are developing "Connected Themes" and other new material.

Spring 2006:"Fiddler's World" was the song for NPR's "Open Mic" for March 16. You can still hear it by visiting the link below. Open Mic has a song each day from an independent artist and has featured artists such as Sufjan Stevens and has "helped them reach wider audiences."
