OMT FILM COMPOSING
The Orange Mighty Trio finds itself currently working on music for two indie films, one feature length and one short, by Kris Swanberg and Michael Langan respectively. We very much enjoy this outlet for collaborating and composing.
SUPER TONIC MAN IS COMING
10 years in the making…it’s music theory in comic form! At last, my project is almost complete. Click here to read a bit of it on the Super Tonic Man site.
IMPROVISING CLASS FOR ADULTS
Have you always wanted to be able to jam and figure out the art of knowing what to play with others? Many adult students want to learn this type of thing, so I decided to create a group class just for that purpose. It meets every other Thursday night.
FIDDLER’S LOG
Fall 2011- Teaching a Chamber/Pop Orchestra class with Nick Gaudette at Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Arts. Repertoire includes Michael Jackson and Zelda! Adults improv class continues. Busy working on Super Tonic Man, my music theory comic project, for kids (and others) to learn music theory in the most painless way possible!
Summer 2011- This has been a nice summer of fiddle camps in Chicago and Minneapolis, with some time for projects, the development of a new class for adults on improvisation, and topped off with the Orange Mighty Trio’s original film score performance at the Square Lake Music Festival.
May 2011— For Bob Dylan’s 70th birthday, the Orange Mighty Trio went into the studio at Radio K to do 3 Dylan covers. Listen on Dylan’s b-day, May 24th, at 2:00 pm or head to www.radiok.org to download, if you like.
Apr 2011— The Orange Mighty Trio played a part in the new String Theory Festival, playing the lunchtime concert series at McNally Smith College and a packed house at the Artists’ Quarter.
Jan 2011– A commission came in and for it I wrote an imaginary video game score for the Cedar Cultural Center’s 416 series. Performed alongside some classic Nintendo scores and adventurous rock covers, it made for a super-fun night! And, we had the pleasure of working with special guest Peter Legget of Heiruspecs on the drums. Thanks a lot, Cedar!
